Remembering :: May 4th 1970 Kent State Massacre

This day, back then, set in motion my adult life, separate from what my parents and society had imagined and planned for me. And the Kent State Massacre wasn’t alone, wasn’t the only one either; South Carolina and Mississippi and more. The president called us bums and lied (sound familiar).

“Fifty years ago today, 28 soldiers opened fire on anti-Vietnam war demonstrators, letting loose 67 bullets in just 13 seconds. Four students were killed, nine wounded, and a fissure exposed in American society that shaped politics into the Trump era.”
